RECENT SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
Therapeutic Conversations - Annual Narrative Therapy Conferences 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019
Allison and her colleague Dennis are frequent speakers at the Vancouver based international conference on Narrative Therapy. They speak about their work with youth who are getting their lives back from drugs and alcohol. Their workshop highlights a particular documentation of both young people’s insider knowledge and their parents’ or caregivers' insider/outsider knowledge through the use of video in which young people, who had already completed the Peak House program (Allison and Dennis' meeting workplace), were interviewed about their experience of liberation from the grip of substance misuse. District of West Vancouver Youth Services: Presentation on Self Harm - June 2013
Self Harm : What are risky behaviours and safer behaviours? A post modern discussion about risk and safety. An exploration of the continuum of what gets called SELF HARM, stepping outside of binary ways of thinking about safety and risk as exclusive, fixed places.
