Allison worked as a Youth Care Counsellor from 1998 until 2004 and acquired her Undergraduate Degree, majoring in Sociology and Religious Studies. Upon returning to Vancouver in 2006, she connected with a Mental Health Outreach Team on the North Shore. There she assisted many adults, with various mental health struggles, be active members in their community. In her second year of her Masters degree, Allison was hired to be a Family Therapist in East Vancouver. With over 14 years of experience in the field, Allison offers a wealth of knowledge, education, and expertise.
Allison Rice currently works as an Individual & Family Therapist in her own private practice.
As a child, Allison played every sport imaginable while mastering the violin among many other things. She played with Badminton Canada and was Athlete of the Year in 1999. She then spent a few years traveling and working as a musician and performer in a circus in Toronto. Allison continues to play violin with her friends and badminton as time permits! A dedicated family-woman, Allison spends much of her free time with her sisters, parents, partner, nephew and niece. Family is the core of all human beings, which is largely in part why Allison works often within the family dynamic of substance misuse and the challenges it may bring to a family.
Allison is dedicated to helping individuals and families find freedom from their struggles so that they can ultimately live the lives they want to live - free from the constraints of the problems in their lives.
